Flood Seal – A Private Flood Alternative to NFIP

Flood Seal is a private market alternative to the NFIP. According to www.fema.gov “Section 207 ends current grandfathered NFIP rates for existing policy holders who, through no fault of their own, find themselves below “Base Flood Elevation” requirements of Flood Insurance Rate Maps issued after their compliance with previous FEMA issued Flood Insurance Rate Maps.” With the uncertainty of Biggert-Waters implementation and the impact on flood premiums, Flood Seal creates a stable flood market for your policyholders.

Flood Seal is offered exclusively through Sterling Surplus Underwriters. The program is supported by A rated paper and is available in the following states: Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Florida (excluding Monroe County), Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

Sterling Surplus Underwriters is an independently owned managing general agency/wholesale broker. Our commitment is to offer programs and services which are difficult to find in today’s marketplace. We say we’re “underwriting more than risk”, we’re taking a fresh look at all aspects of the wholesale business in an effort to provide an underwriting atmosphere that is personable yet efficient, technical but user friendly with the ultimate goal of providing a first class experience to our clients.
